50cc Scooters for the Road

Cheap Road 50cc Mopeds
By Rob D Stone

50cc Mopeds are ideal for travelling into town, to a friends house or anywhere which does not require much power in the vehicle as these bikes are basically scooters but limited to 30mph as many people are still learners when they ride one. Once you have passed your test, then you are able to upgrade to a 125cc scooters which go much faster and have more torque.

What is also good about these mopeds are the low insurance, don't take much petrol and can get in and out of many roads which some cars would find awkward either due to the turning, roadwork's or just road width. On a downside it can be a little more dangerous to ride one as falling off can cause serious injury and unfortunately car drives don't seem to take to mopeds, scooters or cyclists but overall the benefits outweigh the negatives. Adding to this, it takes as much responsibility if not more to ride one, as in the wrong hands a moped can be as dangerous as a car.

In the United Kingdom, you can get a driving permit once you turn 16 to be able to ride a moped. As with driving a car, there comes a lot of responsibility and common sense. Experience comes with time, and learning that a moped is not a toy and should not be used for stunts and showing off. With a car, you at least have a shell to protect you to a degree but with a moped or scooter, you are much more venerable. A L Plate needs to be placed on the vehicle until a full test has been taken.

Traffic conditions can be daunting as a learning in a car, let alone on a moped. You are in more direct contact with your surroundings so with so much going on, you need to adapt very quickly and with this your reactions will become much more responsive. With a 50cc moped being limited to 30mph, this gives much more time to become self aware of your surroundings instead of going to fast and not being able to react in time which can have severe consequences. Even a bump in the road can cause a moped to jolt much more than a car, so balance and control are much more important whereas a car is much more stable.

Whilst in control of a moped, your body is required to control the bike more than you would be required to control car. Your left hand is responsible for controlling the clutch to change year, with the right hand controlling the brake. The left foot is used to change gear as well as many other controls such as signalling, switching to the reserve fuel tank and turning the lights on.

Overall 50cc mopeds are ideal first vehicles but beware that the money involved even for cheap mopeds could be well spent on a first car. If you feel you have the common sense and are mature enough to control a moped then they will pay for themselves in no time due to the miles which can be done on a tank of petrol, otherwise a car is the safest option if your reaction times are not ideal.

50cc Mopeds: a Personal Story

50cc Mopeds To Change Your Life
By Rob D Stone

I want to tell you a story that could change your life for the better just as it has mine. I used to stand each day at the bus stop in any and all sorts of weather waiting for a bus that may or may not turn up. Then rushing to get on and get a seat just to sit waiting in traffic and stopping every couple of hundred meters to pick up more poor souls. Then at 5:30 it would all start again on the way home from work. The whole process was hard work and used to take a good hour each way.

I started to think about ways I could improve my journey from Car sharing, trains or a cycle. In the end I decided to buy a moped. Wasn't to bothered about getting anything to powerful. Just a cheap moped like a 50cc moped. I was quite excited about it so I went online and looked at a few moped shops using a search engine to find them. Then I went out and looked at some local moped places in the area. In the end it was cheaper to go and buy direct on the internet. Within a few days I had a branch new moped on my drive. A few days after that I was equipped with a helmet and some new clothes to wear when I was riding my lovely moped.

I was amazed by how many makes and models there actually were out there. The selection of colours to was quite wide which means that no matter who you are you can find one that suites you perfectly. I went for a navy blue one with a box to put my things in. I got a helmet in a matching colour.

When the mornings come now I can have another half hour in bed. I no longer have to get to the bus stop early to get into a queue to ensure a seat. I no longer have to put up with the bus stopping every few hundred meters which means I can get to work so much faster than I used to and the overall running costs are no more expensive than a weekly bus ticket. Not only does it save me time on the way to work but I can get out of work and while others are stuck in a long line of traffic on a moped you can overtake them all and get home in no time at all. This means I'm home from work half hour earlier than I used to be in the evening. Its not only given me more freedom but has given me more sleep at night and more time with my family in the evening.

My experience has become so successful that two of my friends have already followed my lead and got their own mopeds. One friend got a 125cc scooter where as the other got the same as me and opted for a 50cc mopeds. My wife is also tempted to get one herself. I really have to say that its one of the best moves I have ever made and I would recommend it to anyone. Just get on the internet and research it for yourself. You won't regret it

50cc Scooters are Terrific on Gas

Best MPG 50cc Scooters
By Mark P Andrews

This is a short advice buying guide, providing just a few tips for you to the best mpg scooters, 50cc mopeds or buying a gas powered scooter. If you are looking to buy a moped / scooter or 50cc mopeds for sale, please read on.

Are you looking to save money on gas? Are you frightened about the recent hikes in the price of gas? Do you wonder where these prices will end up? Are you looking to save money on short errands around your town or city? Have you worked out how much money you could be saving per month, from just a few simple changes to the way you get around, from A to B? Are you ready to purchase the best mpg 50cc scooters, either for yourself or members of your family, or employees of your business or company? Here, briefly I give you the low down on what you can expect from buying a gas powered scooter.

Of course, 50cc mopeds are not going to suit everyone, no they will not zip you around the city if like me, you are quite a large individual. If however, you are of average build, they will convey you very well for many short distance journeys. In Europe and Asia, you see these best mpg scooters everywhere, ridden by people of all ages, from every background possible - they realise with their (in Europe) high gas prices, that this is indeed a highly economical way of getting around, especially in the town or city. Also, unlike many larger vehicles, they almost never waste time getting snarled up in traffic jams.

Perfect for gentle rolling hills, they might struggle a bit however with very steep hills, given the fact that in actual fact, they are not even 50cc at all, many of them, and when the cubic capacity is this small, believe you me, every digit is valuable. Most of them come in just below 50cc. However, surprisingly low as this is, they'll still get you around at a modest top speed of 35mph and return for you very often, in excess of 100mpg, not to be sniffed at!

Gone are the old days of terrible styling, today's 50cc mopeds / scooters are very stylish indeed and very modern looking. Even a young university student would in actual fact, feel quite proud to get around on some of the eye catching designs available, whilst too, saving a whole lot of cash per month on gas. Some models even come with a rear lockable trunk or under saddle storage area, more than enough room for some shopping or documents, whatever you wish to carry with you.

Light, zippy, good acceleration, you can always park them very easily and with prices starting new under $1000, you would be mad to not think about buying one of these great little machines.
