i have a scooter bought in 2001 new off road 2002 never declared sorn garaged ever since?

Just like cars, motor scooters and mopeds lose a considerable amount of value as soon as they leave the lot. Add to that the shorter lifespans (not in terms of age, but in terms of mileage) of motor scooters, and it's pretty obvious that the secondary market for used mopeds is ripe for the picking. On this blog and on our partner cheap scooters site, we find and post the best deals from around the web.

can i get it back on the road never had a tax reminder off the dvla what do i do and will it cost me .

If its NEVER been taxed, then they may not fine you.

the sorn thing came into effect as of Jan 31st 1998, so vehicles that were not taxed before that date and were never taxed again after that date, dont have to be sorn. I know as i had a letter from DVLA stating this fact.

If it was taxed, expect a fine , which could be more than £80, as they may fine you for each year you didnt sorn it.

The DVLA move in mysterious ways. I took a car off the road and sent in a SCORN . The car was up on blocks in my garage. I didn't think anything of the fact that I didn't get an acknowledgement for the SCORN ( because they recon they hadn't received it ). But then 8 months down the line I got a £80 fine through the letter box for owning an unlicensed vehicle. Sometimes it doesn't pay to be honest.

Yes just take your V5 to the post office with relevant MOT and insurance and they will fill in the form for you
